Eyes

why hello there! so a few weeks ago, i took my dad to the movies. we went and watched Avatar; WHICH i must say is an awesome movie. my dad and i enjoyed it very much. but it wasn't the movie that got me thinking...it was a commercial type thing for THX. you know that thing in the theaters that always shakes the building? the "wwwwaaaaahhhh!!!!" yeaa; that thing. anyways, when the noise is over a saying pops up underneath the letters THX. the saying is, "Believe Your Eyes." which got me thinking; we really shouldn't believe our eyes. our eyes can deceive us into thinking something is real when it really isn't. false idols and gods that we worship when we really shouldn't. but not just the deceiving things; the real things that actually exist, but are wrong for our spirits. Sex, drugs, alcohol, pornagraphy, even money. yes, i realize that we need money for our needs, but when it becomes an obsession so great that is controls our lives, its turned into something wretched. so heres the skinny: we should not trust our eyes. we shouldn't worship under false pretenses. we shouldn't be tricked into the world's ways. which include: gossip, fame, pride, the media as in MTV and VH1. dont go along with the ways of the world. there is this awesome place for Christian shoppers; its called c28. they carry this clothing line called NOTW. which stands for "Not Of This World". no, it doesn't mean we're aliens, it means God created us, and we're here for the purpose He has planned for us. Be in the world, not of it. don't get sucked into the man's wicked schemes; they'll only tear you down. Only Jesus Christ can keep us up out of the fire.
are you not of this world? or are you apart of it?

Galations 5:13 "You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love."

The Past Is In The Past...

hey everyone. wowza; its been WAY to long since i've blogged. well to start it off i'm going to do something that a few of my friends have done. its just a little recap of 2009.

--2009--
-I've traveled to Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas.
-I've transitioned from a middle blocker in volleyball to an outside hitter.
-I've met many new friends in the matter of 5 months.
-I've learned alot more about Creation and how to appreciate how beautiful everything God created is.
-I've experienced heartbreak in many different ways.
-I've had the best relationship with Christ than I've ever had before.
-I've learned that people that who you think will always be there, may sometimes leave.
-I'm in the process of getting closer to my LORD.
-I've discovered that I enjoy writing for my blog.
-I've experienced the best friendship anyone could ever have.
-I've gotten my life back on the right track.
-I've eaten to much fatty foods this year.
-I've developed an obsession for vampires(I know its really bad, but for some reason, they fascinate me. Yes, I know they aren't real.)
-I realized that you should stay busy so you dont get depressed, but not to busy that you're to worn out.
-I've spent most of my time reading, writing, drawing, or listening to music.
-I've lost someone who's family I miss terribly.
-I've witnessed to someone who won't listen to me anymore.
-I realized how stupid it was to be scared of high school.
-I've seen a ton of movies.
-I've seen how different a friend can be when they get into a new relationship.
-I've disovered lots of new music/bands that I enjoy very much.
-I've learned to accept the fact that nothing goes your way.

Alrighty then! Down to the nitty-gritty. So 2009 is over, 2010 is here. Time to welcome new opportunities and make more mistakes! Did you know that mistakes are sometimes good things? Especially when they make you run to God. So here's a little truthful story of mine; Oct-Dec of 2008 I was sort of a depressed being because of a boy. Yes, a boy. He made me depressed. I'd even dealt with thoughts of cutting. By January of 2009, I realized I didn't need him, so I ended it. Seeing how badly I'd hurt him, made me feel awful. I ran to God. He completely changed my life. I can't stand the sound of rap music anymore; I've only cried twice since my depression peaked; I'm rarely in my room anymore, I'm with my family most of the time; and most of all, my friends have seen the change, and it scares them. I literally feel the change and Him working in my life, and I absolutely love that. So lets just make it short this time. 2009 in over, with 2010 working its way in. Don't dwell on the past, look forward to the future, and the glories it beholds. You never know what you'll expect when it comes down to the future, thats what makes it so exciting! Worrying about the past wont get you anywhere; trust me. I worried so much about 4 months after I got over my depression. I worried about everything. But just let it go. Its in the past, and there is nothing you can do to change that.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you." declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
